Hurricane Sandy Impact on the Financial Market

Conclusion

The findings of this project suggest that there is a strong relation between the changes in the stock prices of the nine companies studied, located in New Jersey, and the weather forecast predictions regarding Hurricane Sandy's magnitude and landfall location. Further research should be done regarding other predicted natural catastrophes to find out if this is a pattern in the market, so that it can be determined if this is an isolated incident, or if there is evidence of that this is a common behavior of the stock market during a major weather event.
